Your skin speaks

I am a multifunctional organ full of cells ,blood and sensory organs. I have so many functions that there are too many to list. I am very dynamic with a great memory but I am not very forgiving. As of yet I am not completely understood. You have to remember that I cannot talk to you in words.

You will upset me through:

  •  Use of wrong products
  • Too much UVR
  • Excessive amount of peeling
  • Poor Diet
  • Smoking
  • Hormonal Changes / stress
  • Long term illness / illness

The only way that I can talk to you is through a reaction which could be:

  • Sensitive skin/Redness
  • Dry flaky patches
  • Pigmentation
  • Congestion under the skin
  • Spots
  • Premature wrinkles
  • Premature aging sagging
  • Uneven colour
I am split into two layers. The top layer is called the Epidermis and the lower, the Dermis. I want to explain my Epidermis to you. My Epidermis is only 0.2 mm thick and has 5 layers. Each layer performs a unique and important function and all my cells talk to each other. You should treat me in the same way that you treat your expensive clothes! Do not over wash me – I do not get that dirty therefore I do not need deep cleansing. If I had a washing label it would read: Wash gently at night with a cleanser with the correct PH. At the same time, I do not mind an exfoliating mitt to gently remove the top layer of dead skin cells. If you wanted your clothes to fit better and look better, would you strip down to your underwear and not wear any? If you want me to look better on the outside then think about helping my lower layers first. Do not strip me; just make my lower cells fatter. Then I will stand a greater chance of looking better on the outside. I know what cream suits me so please stop putting stuff on me because you like the smell, because the bottle looks good in your bathroom, because it was a freebie in a magazine or because a celebrity uses it. Every skin care is nothing more than a tube or pot filled with a mix of different cosmetic ingredients so next time you think of buying a skin cream do not look at the marketing of it, please turn the product over and start to learn the ingredients, I am sure you have started to do it with the food you eat.
